Case Study: Hamilton Hotel Roof Renovation
The Hamilton Hotel Roof Renovation Project consisted of an existing roof that had failed years prior to the project start date. The existing roof consisted of a wood deck and its membrane was a Hot Mopped Tar and Gravel. The support structure of the building shell and roof were in good condition which allowed our our crew to install a .45 mil white TPO single ply membrane over fan fold insulation. The existing roof did not have to be torn off minimizing the amount of waste to be taken to the landfill. With no mechanical equipment located on the roof, we were able to install a thinner membrane. As of today, the roof is in great shape and currently the owners of the building are looking for tenants in order to proceed with phase II of the project.
Case Study: Brinkman 7.5kW Roof Mount Installation
Mr. Brinkman selected Solar Redi LLC as his solar installer earlier this year. Installation took place on September 18, 2013. The system was designed to offset approximatley 85% of his home's electricity usage; however, Mr. Brinkman's home was already Solar Ready and by that, we mean he had taken all the necessary steps to make his home as efficient as possible: Balanced ventilation, closed cell foam on the underside of the roof deck, radiant barrier and open cell blown in insulation were all used at optimal levels. Once the pv system was fired up, output was recalculated and based on the data, efficiency for the system was adjusted to 102%. Factors leading to the increase in production: 1) Reduction of attic heat convection and roof top emissivity meant a smaller proportional transfer to the pv system which allowed for greater performance in the panel and overall system.
